October is finally here!

Among the usual oversize-sweatered hands carrying PSLs and scrolling through caramel-coloured Pinterest boards, there is that all too familiar dressing woe; how does one prepare for morning’s Arctic temperatures, but also survive the afternoon’s blazing heat?

Layering is definitely key, but I won’t lie to you; you’ll have to brave the brief morning chill in order to stretch your Summer/Fall wardrobe for as many weeks as the weather will allow.

In this case, my look is more Summer than Fall. I opted for a semi long-sleeved crop and a denim mini, but to be fair these photos were taken in early September when sandals were still an acceptable footwear option.

If I were to alter this look to make it more frigid-friendly, I would opt for a midi denim skirt and a caramel-coloured turtleneck. Oh, and swap out the gladiator sandals for comfy white sneaks.

I’ll admit I went a little caramel crazy in terms of clothing for the Fall season. From camel-coloured cashmere sweaters to tawny knee-high boots (and sandals, evidently), I love every variation of this burnt orange hue, and think it’s the perfect transitional colour for Fall.

So keep an eye out for upcoming looks that incorporate warmer variations of this delicious salted caramel colour, and please stay cozy guys!
