Is there anything bolder than fighting the greyish muck of Winter 2016 with a crisp white blazer? Whether this move is daring or just plain dumb (hellooo, slush stains!), you have to admit it makes a statement.
The great thing about blazers is the endlessly versatile options for how you can wear them. I’ve been really into the shoulder draping thing, and purposely bought this Mango jacket a size bigger to do just that.
Buying a size bigger than your regular won’t stop you from wearing your jacket in its traditional, arms-through-the-sleeves form either; its oversized fit actually puts you at an advantage in this cold weather! Layer up in your favourite cashmere crewnecks and wool turtlenecks underneath the too-big blazer and roll up its longer sleeves for a more casual, cool-girl vibe. To balance the loose fit of the blazer, opt for tight-fitting dark denim or second-skin leather pants (you know, the kind you have to wrestle with for a bit in order to actually get them on).
Winter white can be tricky to pull off, but when done right the payoff is a no-nonsense edgy look that gives you an excuse to rock tough leather and killer boots. Not to mention, Spring officially starts in just under three weeks, sooo…is it really even Winter anymore??
